The proprietor of 9 Dots Learning is Terry Dash. She did straight time as an information technology manager for 25 years, with the last 10 years happily managing systems for an elementary school. This was a lucky break, since she had long since, in a hopeful and youthful moment, acquired a masters degree in education from Harvard that was otherwise completely useless. At the elementary school, she taught students in grades 2 through 9 about digital citizenship, trouble-shooting, and — most joyfully — about coding. This was good, even though it didn’t happen often enough because big information systems generally devour time and don’t leave many scraps available for other activities.

And then 9 Dots Learning got born. Here she could focus entirely on helping kids learn. She could help them with mathematics. This was good, since she had just recently, in a hopeful if hoary moment, acquired a masters degree in mathematics education from Lesley. And she could help them with computer science, which unaccountably is not taught much in most schools even though it is the most joyful thing she knows. And there you are.

Terry currently teaches after school through Newton Community Education, Arlington Community Education, Ottoson School AM/PM program, and privately. If you’d like more information, please contact:
